In Omis old city , there are restaurants with dalmatian specialties, mainly Fish. Overlooking the city is the medieval fortress Mirabela, an ancient pirate stronghold. Another medieval fortress, Fortica, on the top of the mountain above the city. The stronghold of the Dukes Kacic, ancient lords of Omis can only be reached by foot. Excursion boats will take you on the islands Brac & Hvar or up the cetina river.
