Detailed description:

The "Casetta dei Piani" is an old Casale (in Italian means a country house in Tuscany ) situated in the Cecina river valley, immersed in the quietness of the Maremma's hills, a few miles from the Tyrrhenian Sea . The building completely restructured a few years ago, is completely independent, and is easily reached by an asphalted road. "Casetta dei Piani" is surrounded by a wide garden where there are a large variety of Mediterranean plants such as olive trees, cypress, rose-bay and rosemary.

The building has two stories. On the ground floor there is a large kitchen, a comfortable living room, two bathrooms all connected by a corridor. On the second floor there are two quiet bedrooms, both with a double bed and a single bed, for a total number of 6 persons.

Outside there is a garden with lawn where to sunbathe, a pergola with a large table and 8 chairs to enjoy meals and conversation in the open air shade. There is a parking area for 3 cars.

The Cecina River Valley

The high Cecina river valley has many examples of very ancient civilisations and their fortified villages, castles and churches . he landscape is the typical of the Tuscany countryside, with rows of cypresses, fields of olives, vineyards , fields of cereals and scrub land covered with Mediterranean bushes.

From the Casale there are many easy-to-reach towns rich of art and history. For example Volterra 23 km, S. Giminiano 53 km, Siena 74 km, Pisa 80 km, Florence 95 km, Montalcino 115 km, Grosseto 126 km and Rome 295 km.
Beaches

At about 25 km from Casale there is the Tyrrhenian Sea with a large choice of natural beaches and modern bathing facilities for every age group and comfort. The most beautiful places are Cecina 28 km, to the north Castiglioncello 32 km, and to the south San Vincenzo 53 km.

How to find us:

The Casale "La Casetta dei Piani" is based in the Pisa 's district on the border of the Livorno . It's easy to reach by car, train and plane.

By Car : Take the motorwayA12, Genova-Livorno, then at the exit of Rosignano continue south in the direction of Rome on the road SS 1/E, for Livorno-Grosseto, and exit at Cecina Nord. Follow the road SS 68, Cecina-Volterra, until you reach Ponteginori . Here take the road SP 47 in direction of Micciano . After 4km, from Ponteginori, on the right hand side, 200 metres after Stantiano Bed & Breakfast of you will find the Casale "La Casetta dei Piani".
By Train : Take the Livorno-Rome train and stop at the Cecina's rail station where you can take a taxi, about 20/30 minutes, to the Casale. There are many trains from Milan to Cecina that takes about 41/2 hours, or from Bologna to Cecina, about 31/2 hours, or from Rome to Cecina that take about 3 hours.

You can use a fully equipped kitchen with a frizzier, gas range, kitchen sink, dining table and chairs, wood heater , also the two bedrooms with 3 beds each, two toilettes, a shower.

The price also includes weekly cleaning of all rooms, bed linen, pillow cases and towels.
The stay starts every Saturday at 16:00 and ends the following Saturday at 10:00.
