Casa Naldi rises on the foundations of a XIV century building, situated close to the walls, in the centre of the medieval villages of Montecarlo.

Detailed description:

The house, recently restored, maintains tiled floors, stone walls, wooden beams and traditional furnishings.
On the ground floor the beautiful kitchen, with the ancient stone sink and fireplace; from here, the access to the walls of the village, with beautiful panorama. On the upper floor the spacious bedrooms, with en suite bath and television, very comfortable and clear, some of them with a view. Finally, the tavern, with its own court-yard: a roomy hall, once local chemist’ laboratory, still conserving original niches in the wall and some outfit, which can be used for small meetings or else.

Description of the area:

Situated on the hill ridge separating Valdinievole from the plain of Lucca, Montecarlo extends itself towards the base of the Fortezza Cerruglio, in a wonderful panoramic position. Its surrounded by wine yards and olive groves. Only 20 minutes to reach the city Lucca with its majestic wall and the many churches. On the other side you arrive to Pescia (city of flowers) and Montecatini and Monsummano with its Thermals. There is a good train connection to Florence from Altopascio (5 km). Pisa and the coast of the Versilia is reachable in only 40 minutes. Daily trips to the Garfagnana or to San Gimignano and Volterra are easily to do.

By car: A11 Firenze-Mare motorway exit Altopascio; continue towards PESCIA and Montecarlo. At MARGINONE you must turn to the left in a curve; quiet difficult to see the sign. Arrived on top turn to the right and 2 times to the left in order to reach the historical centre. You can come in front of the house only to unload; free parking is at 200 m distant.
By train: Pescia train station (from east) or Altopascio train station (from west).
By plane: G. Galilei; airport in Pisa or A. Vespucci; airport in Florence.
