Our apartment in the centre of Tihany consists of a 2-bedded room with an extra bed for a child, TV set, 1 2-bedded room, living-room with dinning area, kitchen, bathroom with toilet and a separate toilet, terrace with a view of the Internal Lake.

Guests can enjoy the garden, blooming with flowers and with sitting and grilling facilities.

Your dog is also welcome, if he has no problems with our 2 cats.

Description of the area:

TIHANY

Lake Balaton is the largest lake in western and middle Europe with a length of 77km and a width of 14km at its widest stretch; between Balatonfüzfő and Balatonvilágos. It has an area of almost 600km² and the complete shore line perimeter is 195km. The lake is quite shallow, its deepest point reaches 12. m between Tihany and Szántod, but otherwise it is only 3-4 metres deep. The water heats up very quickly, the average temperature being 26°C.

The Tihany peninsula divides the lake into two basins. The two towers of the Benedictine Abbey, built in 1055, attract the attention of guests from great distances. The Tihany peninsula – of a volcanic origin – is famous for its exceptional wildlife, and for this reason became the first nature reserve of Hungary in 1952.

The Landscape Protection area of Tihany later expanded to the north and in 1997 became part of the formation of the Balaton-Highland National Park. The Tihany peninsula received Europe-wide recognit
