Detailed description: La Pouyette offers simplicity and charm for those with eclectic taste who want a traditional holiday home with the convenience of modern living and something extra special! The Holiday house has recently been carefully restored and enlarged. The distinctive character of old stone houses in the region has been retained, but now allows today's standard of comfort. Designed and tastefully furnished it has a special ambience, simple but charming country elegance with a contemporary touch. A spacious and restful atmosphere has been created. The total living space is on two levels. Living room with comfortable seating, leading to a small library with TV and Video, luxury fitted kitchen, 2 bedrooms and stylish bathroom. A glazed door opens onto the spacious terrace and pool providing a beautiful ambience, even on cloudy days. Small olive trees together with the heady scent of aromatic herbs; give through every season that southern feeling we all like! |

La Pouyette is standing on a hilltop, situated between Verteillac (4 KM north) and - just ten minutes away to the lively little town of Riberac (8 Km south), which has every facility and the best weekly market in the region each Friday. Not far you'll find countless Chateaux, typical Périgord hamlets and fortified hilltop villages. Breathtaking views of valleys, undulating patch-works of fields and small forests, exuding in all seasons the distinctive aroma of the Périgord. The Périgord is an invitation to re-discover the real 'art of life', a recipe of 'bien-etre' and taste!

Full shopping available ten minutes away in Riberac. Verteillac also has a number of smaller shops. A full list where to buy whatever, restaurants, pharmacies etc. together with all other useful information is provided on your arrival. |

Plenty of restaurants, from simple to superior, are within easy reach by car. A rewarding day or two can be spent locally following the circuit of Romano churches and admiring their architecture. Leisurely canoeing on the river Dronne is a magical experience. Visits of the wine Chateaux in the Bergerac and Bordeaux region can be arranged. Numerous concerts, both classical and jazz, through the year. |

Paris is 500 Km to the North, by train (TGV) only 2 hours and 20 minutes to Angouleme, which is 45 Km north of Verteillac. By car via the A 10 from Paris to Poitiers - Angouleme, about 4 1/2 - 5 hours. Bordeaux with international airport is 120 Km south-west. All prices include central heating, linen and towels. 25 % of the total rental is due with booking. The balance of 75 % is due six weeks before arrival together with a security deposit cheque of 650 Euros. This security deposit will be refunded latest 2 weeks after departure. Bookings are normally from Saturday to Saturday. Depending on the availability of the house other starting days can be arranged. A booking is for a minimum of three nights. Daily rates on request. |
