Das Haus ist 2007 komplett umgebaut worden, der sonnige Garten ist eingewachsen und eingezäunt. Nur 50 m vom Nordhollandkanal gelegen in einem kleinen Ferienpark bieten Haus und Umgebung viele Möglichkeiten. Bis zum Ortskern von Schoorl, einem kleinen, idyllischen Ort, sind es ca. 1, km. Dort gibt es alle Einkaufsmöglichkeiten. Schön ist auch das nahegelegene Alkmaar, bekannt durch seinen Käsemarkt am Freitag.
5 km entfernt liegt das bekannte Künstlerdorf Bergen.
Den wunderschönen, breiten Sandstrand erreicht man nach Durchquerung eines Heide und Dünen Naturschutzgebiets. Seine Besonderheit sind die bis zu 40 m hohen Steildünen, die sich malerisch gegen den Horizont abzeichnen.
